“What welcomes you is the perfume..” It’s 2007. Ciokarrua’s small workshop opens in the rural area of Baroque Modica. Innovation in tradition is the philosophy that summarizes the vision of Giovanni Cicero, the company’s artisan entrepreneur. A project inspired by the history of the family, which has made carob a twenty-year job and commitment, but which aims, today, to build its identity. If carob, therefore, is a destiny, chocolate is a choice. Process the pulp and extract the essence. Toast the fava beans, mix the flavors, and create the tablets. The products tell the story of the city and its history, moving from popular manual skills to new processing techniques. In 2017, Ciokarrua rethought its spaces and, in the new more functional context, the laboratory became a real artisanal workshop, where the machines are built according to desires and ambitions and where curious people can enter to discover the cogs of taste.
