olives and producing olive oil in the Belice Valley,
one of the oldest and most prized olive-growing regions in Sicily.

MEET SILVIA LOMBARDO
CEO & Founder
2009
Silvia was born and raised in Sicily, and never imagined she would leave. An agronomist by profession, she joined Asaro Farms, working in quality control and production.
2013
Then everything changed: she followed Tommaso to New York. A new city, a new culture, a new life. But something was missing. Her family, her friends, the food, the warmth: Sicily. It was from that absence that an idea was born: to bring the very essence of Sicily into American homes.
2016
She founded Best Sicily, an e-commerce platform shipping across the United States. Gradually, she expanded the selection: not just olive oil and pasta, but ceramics, coffee, artisan textiles, jewelry, skincare. The best of what Sicily knows how to create, in every form, and Best Sicily won over Americans.
2023
With growth came a new challenge: making that connection even more alive, even more human: Best Sicily Bottega was born at 85 Beaver Street, in the heart of Manhattan's Financial District. What started as a retail store quickly evolved into a café and gastronomia, where Silvia, out of pure passion, also became a cook and pastry chef. A place filled with the scents and flavors of Sicily, where New Yorkers can pause for a moment and experience that unique combination of authenticity, warmth and beauty that only this island can offer.

it is a way of being in the world, built on genuineness, tradition,
and a deep care for health and quality of life.

MEET TOMMASO ASARO

Born into the Asaro family, which has been cultivating olives and producing extra virgin olive oil in Sicily’s Belice Valley since 1916, Tommaso began working in the family business at the age of 18. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who helped introduce Asaro olive oil to the United States, he later moved to New York, bringing with him a deep knowledge of Sicilian agriculture and food traditions. In 2016, he became Strategic Partner of Best Sicily, joining Silvia in the mission to bring authentic Sicilian products and culture to the United States.

Today, Tommaso is the heir to the Asaro legacy, a family business built on more than a century of excellence in Sicilian olive oil production. As Strategic Partner of Best Sicily, he ensures that the same values that have guided the Asaro family since 1916—authenticity, quality, and deep respect for tradition—remain at the heart of everything the company does. Through his work, Tommaso strengthens the connection between Sicily and the United States, helping bring not only exceptional products, but also the heritage, culture, and spirit of the island to American tables every day.
